Flatbed Towing in Portland, OR: The Right Way to Move What Matters

There's towing, and then there's moving something you actually care about. Your daily driver with 180,000 miles on it? A wheel lift gets it there fine. Your Tesla, your lowered WRX, your dad's '67 Mustang? That goes on a flatbed. Loaded right, strapped right, no excuses.

Why a flatbed

A flatbed's deck drops flat to the ground and the vehicle rolls or winches up on all four wheels. Nothing drags, nothing hangs off the back, nothing scrapes on a driveway apron. For all-wheel-drive cars, EVs, lowered cars, and anything with expensive paint, it's the only loading method that doesn't gamble with damage. If a company wants to drag your AWD Subaru down Powell Boulevard on a wheel lift, call someone else. Lowered cars that can't clear a standard ramp, classics with original paint, and anything fresh out of the body shop all ride better up top, where nothing touches them but the straps.

EVs ride flatbed or they don't ride

Most electric vehicles have no true neutral. The drive motors stay connected to the wheels even when the car is off, so dragging an EV with its drive wheels on the ground can overheat components and fry a drive motor worth thousands. Nearly every owner's manual says the same thing: flatbed only. We follow the manual. Bed fully lowered, soft straps on the wheels, the car winched or driven up straight, secured at the manufacturer's jack points. Teslas, Rivians, Lightnings, Ioniqs, we've moved them all, including the ones with a dead 12-volt battery that locked the car in park.

The details that separate a good load from a bad one

Soft straps instead of chains on finished wheels. Factory jack points, not suspension arms or control arms. Winch it up straight, secure it at four corners, check the straps twice before rolling. Boring? That's the point. Boring means nothing shifted, nothing scraped, and nothing broke between pickup and drop-off. Ask any operator: the loads you remember are the ones somebody rushed.

What we flatbed

Cars, SUVs, pickups, EVs, motorcycles, lowered and modified cars, classics, project cars, and small equipment. Portland, Gresham, Sandy, Clackamas, Happy Valley, Troutdale, and everywhere in between. Short hop across town or a long haul out to the Gorge, same careful load every time. Dealership transfers, auction pickups, and cars headed to the shop after a fender bender are all daily flatbed work for us.

Moving something worth protecting? Call (503) 253-3030. Flatbeds rolling 24/7, and we'd rather load it right than load it twice.
