Oregon City sits where Willamette Falls, I-205, and about six steep hills all collide. It is a commuter town, a tourist stop, and a maze of curves all at once, which makes it one of our busiest tow zones in Clackamas County.

I-205 and the Arch Bridge

The I-205 bridge over the Willamette is the daily chokepoint. Morning and evening it stacks up from West Linn to the Oregon City exits, and that is where the rear enders and overheats happen. OR 99E (McLoughlin Blvd) runs parallel and is no better at rush hour. The Oregon City Bridge, the green steel arch locals just call the Arch Bridge, is narrow, old, and unforgiving. Willamette Falls and downtown

The Falls are worth the trip, and the streets around them were not designed for modern traffic. Downtown Oregon City is tight: Main Street, 7th Street, the Municipal Elevator hauling people up the bluff. Tourists stop short, delivery trucks double park, and parking structures eat side mirrors. If your day at the Falls ends with a dead battery or a crunched fender, we are a short drive away.

The hill roads: Abernethy, Beavercreek, South End

This is where Oregon City gets rural fast. Abernethy Road climbs out of town in a series of blind curves. Beavercreek Road runs past farms and the high school with almost no shoulder. South End Road winds along the river with drop offs that punish inattention, especially in the rain. These roads are dark, slick, and full of deer after dusk. Slide into a ditch out here and do not spin your tires. You will only dig deeper. Call for a winch.
